The online yacht application platform will launch on 4/1, get everything done online
To promote the development of yachting activities, the Maritime and Port Bureau, MOTC provides more convenient and immediate services for yacht owners by building a yacht application services platform that integrated the existing yacht entry and exit (inbound and outbound) application system with a new online inquiry feature on yacht berths and the ability to apply for services. The platform will be launched on April 1, 2019. Yacht owners can query the basic information of nearly 30 berths in Taiwan through a single platform and can apply online. This platform greatly changes the inconvenience of the dispersion of berth information and paper applications of the past.
The Maritime and Port Bureau, MOTC stated that the current berths where yachts can dock are managed by different units (for example, central authorities, local government agencies, and non-governmental companies). Due to various environmental factors, the hardware facilities, charging standards, and additional services provided by each berth area are inconsistent. There are also differences in the form fields and the information to be included for the application for berths, and most of them use paper applications. Thus, it takes a lot of time for yacht owners to apply for berths and search for relevant information.
To help promote the development of yacht activities, the Maritime and Port Bureau, MOTC has taken the initiative to plan and build a yacht application service platform. The Maritime and Port Bureau actively discussed with the management units of the berths during the planning stage, simplified the berth application form and made it consistent, consolidated and disclosed the information most yacht owners inquire about on the platform, integrated the existing MTNet yacht entry/exit/inbound and outbound management system, and created a Chinese and English website to seamlessly provide a friendly yachting environment for foreigners in Taiwan.
The Maritime and Port Bureau, MOTC stated that the management units of the various berthing areas and related public associations have been invited to education training on January 8 and 16 respectively. The briefing session was held on February 25, and the participants highly anticipate the platform. The platform is expected to be launched on April 1. In the future, domestic and foreign yacht owners can obtain yacht related information and apply online. The public is welcome to make good use of the platform.
