The Maritime and Port Bureau (MPB), Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC), said today (11/21) that the "Love in Sandiaojiao, Photos of Happiness” event at the Love Chapel located next to the Sandiaojiao Lighthouse will begin on November 23. Members of the public will be able to take as many beautiful photos as they wish. People who participate will receive a gift and can even take part in a lucky draw for the opportunity to enjoy an unobstructed ocean view from the lantern room at the top of the lighthouse and a unique travel experience.
The MPB stated that in order to cultivate people’s love of the sea and let them have different tourism experiences regarding the oceans that surround Taiwan, the first pilot program for artists to be stationed at the Dongju Lighthouse was held in June to July this year. Artists Wei Lu and Mu Tuan, a married couple, experienced life as lighthouse keepers and created artistic works, which received praise from critics from many different sectors. After being stationed at the lighthouse, the artists were invited to set up an exhibition at the Sandiaojiao Lighthouse from November 22 to December 22, with the theme of "Crystal – Between the Lighthouse and the Boat". The theme is about expanding on the artists’ experience and feelings during their stay at the Dongju Lighthouse. The displays were divided into five major types: glass covers, screens, projection videos, albums, and ink paintings. Through these works, the artists convey the symbiotic and reciprocal concept of lighthouses guarding ships and ships depending on lighthouses, hoping to pique people’s interest in learning about lighthouses from a different perspective.
The MPB pointed out that the Love Chapel, which is located next to the Sandiaojiao Lighthouse, has been a popular spot for wedding photography for newlyweds since it was built in 1965. It has recently been renovated and will be open to the public from November 23. The “Love in Sandiaojiao, Photos of Happiness” facility includes a variety of camera effects for people to choose from and enjoy the fun of taking various styles of photos. In particular, if visitors pass the romantic confessions challenge while taking a photo, they can unlock a hidden photo effect. The MPB invited the handsome and tall actor Meng Hao and internet celebrity Regina Hsueh to take the lead in unboxing the experience at Sandiaojiao on the 22nd this week, and teach visitors how to take advantage of online beauty techniques to look good in as many photos as they wish. During the event, people who check in on Facebook and share photos of their experience will receive a nice little gift. Moreover, when visitors upload a screenshot of the check-in to the MPB's fan page, they can also participate in the lucky draw for the opportunity to enter the lantern room at the top of the lighthouse for an unobstructed view of the ocean.
