The 2nd Yacht and Motor Boat Driver Test was held January 21-23 at the Taipei College of Maritime Technology. Out of a total of 181 private and commercial motor boat driving test examinees, 122 qualified, representing a pass rate of 67.4%.

The Commercial Use Motor Boat Driver Test was held January 22-23 in Penghu. Out of a total of 180 examinees, 109 qualified, representing a pass rate of 60.5%.

From January 29 to February 5, 2014, during the Lunar New Year holiday, the MPB took measures to strengthen voyage safety and transportation services of outlying islands and Mini-three-links ferries and distributed five routes between Taiwan and the outlying islands, as well as four routes of the Mini-three-links with a total of 1,068 trips, transporting 128,954 passengers.
